Quest 01 - Scene 01 - The Final Test

The Heroes find themselves in what seems to be an office. They were called upon after completing their training to become members of the Adventurer's Guild. The Adventurer's Guild is a group that formed a place where Heroes all over the realm can gather and train. (Many of them arrived as orphans and cheap labour.)

The goal of the Adventure Guild is to help the realm fight evil, solve mysteries, or even just to help the local crone go shopping when needed. All this is determined by staff members who receive requests and post it up on the board for all Heroes to see.

Our current three Heroes remain silent as the headmaster of the Adventure Guild begins to speak.

'You three have been selected after going through many applications, and I see that with your training you are ready to become official members. There is only one thing left to do and it is to take a final test. This test will determine whether you will be guild members or corpses ...'

The Headmaster and leader of the Adventure Guild is a renowned hunter by the name of Thadeus Stumblepot. He is famous for his adventures and his published bestseller "Monster Journal."



Beside him is the wizard known as Demitrius Snake. Demitrius is a mage known for his abilities to defeat powerful foes with his even more powerful spells. He is also known for his ability to make others feel uncomfortable with his stange and peculiar ways.

'If you have any questions please direct them to Demitirus, he has extensive experience and knowledge of the test,' says the Headmaster.

'Is the test difficult?' ask Catelyn, the semi-vampire warrior.

'Is it difficult?' asks Demitirius as his eyes glazes over and his face contorts to what looks like a pained expression. Suddenly, with a burst of energy he rips open his robes and revealed what seemed like a tight bodysuit beneath it. Then he begins singing...

Let me tell you of a band of three
Whose fate was a tragedy
They were Demitrius, Vlad, and Lenore
You attention I do implore
As I dance so prettily

Demitirius began to dance and prance around the room. The feeling of him swaying around made you shudder, but it was the music that accompanied his dance that made you cringe.

A victory we have found

By running a wyrm aground

And so it was with luck

A treasure was found in muck

But we weren't destined to win

My arrogance was a sin

And so I lost Lenore

My poor beloved Lenore

My beautiful precious Lenore

How I miss you very much

I mourn for you til dusk

My dear Lenore

So I dance for my Lenore

With one final twirl Demitrius stops his dance of forlorn and with a wave of his hand conjured up a robe and began dressing himself.  As he kept himself busy, Thadeus looks at you with eyes of regret.

'I'm sorry for your loss how did Lenore die?' asked Dream.

'She didn't die, she married my dear friend Vlad!' Demitirius said looking ready to dance again.

Thadeus begins to discuss the terms of the test with the Heroes, when suddenly Dream and Catelyn begin to wobble, and with a big thump they fall to the ground asleep. Being an elf and immune to sleep Silvius proclaims, 'No sleep spell will work on me!'

'That is true. But I have a better method of knocking out stubborn elves,' replied Thadeus, and with a speed faster then expected punches Silvius in the face. Silvius drops to the ground and the last thing he hears before succumbing to darkness is Thadeus and Demitrius laughing.

'Motherfu....,' mumbles Silvius just before slumping to the ground.
